Ghost Controls uses a 1.5-inch square aluminum extrusion on most arms, but the bracket that welds to your gate leaf needs to match your hinge pin diameter and the offset of your particular post.

To identify what you need, check the label on the operator housing for the series, then measure your hinge pin and the distance from post face to gate centerline. The factory bracket is typically a stamped steel piece with a light fillet weld; we fabricate replacement brackets from 3/16-inch hot-rolled steel with full-penetration welds and zinc-rich primer. OEM brackets run lighter and cost less upfront, but in Concord’s inland climate, the salt air doesn’t reach us, but the thermal cycling does - we’ve seen OEM brackets crack at 18 months on south-facing gates near Willow Pass Road. • The operator hums or stalls at the same point in travel. Ghost Controls operators have built-in current sensing; when the gate geometry shifts due to a failing bracket, the motor draws more amps to push through the bind. The control board interprets this as an obstruction.
• Fresh rust streaks appear below the bracket, even on painted gates. Cracks in the paint film let moisture reach bare steel. In Concord’s dry summers this hides; the first winter rains after a hot season open the crack wider and the oxidation accelerates.

That price includes: removal of the failed bracket, fabrication of the replacement from measured stock, MIG welding with ER70S-6 wire, zinc-rich primer and topcoat, reinstallation with Grade 5 hardware, operator limit-switch reset, and a photographed record of the finished geometry. We write the price on paper before we strike an arc. DIY or Call Us?
