The AXWK uses a 433 MHz rolling-code signal shared with Ghost Controls remote transmitters; the DK series runs on a two-wire, 12-24 VAC/VDC loop back to the control board.

To identify what you have, check the label inside the battery compartment or on the backplate. The AXWK shows a date code starting with the last two digits of the year and a three-digit batch number. The DK series carries a simpler stamped model number. If your intercom is the GSM-cellular type, you’ll see a SIM tray and an IMEI sticker.

DIY or Call Us?

There’s a safe middle ground here. You can check whether the keypad’s battery voltage reads above 11.5 VDC with a basic multimeter, and you can verify that the indoor intercom chime has power at its transformer. What you should not do is open the control board enclosure or attempt to reprogram rolling codes without understanding the learn-mode sequence, because a misstep can lock out all existing remotes and require a full system reset.

The bigger risk is wiring. Ghost Controls low-voltage runs are often buried alongside 120 VAC landscape lighting or pool equipment feeds.
